Teen Retreat Coming Up: March 23-25, 2012 in Palo Alto

Dear High School Aged Teens of Pacific Yearly Meeting:

Please join us for
a Quaker Teen Retreat
March 23-25, 2012
in Palo Alto, CA

The teens of Palo Alto and Santa Cruz Meetings and the PYM Youth Program invite all High School aged Friends to join us for a weekend of deepening friendships, service, and reflection on issues of social justice and racism. We aim to build community, connect around issues that matter, and improve our environment through a service project. An evening of ice skating under the stars is also on the agenda!

To sign up or learn more please contact Barbara Maloney, parent and Friendly Adult Presence, at barbara [at] kinecht [dot] com, and fill out the 4 release forms (see below). Please share this announcement with high school teens and parents/guardians throughout PYM.

Meetings: please help your teens with transportation and registration costs if possible.

Registration contribution requested: $50 per teen to cover food, materials, ice skating, service project transportation, and Friendly Adult Presence (FAP) participation. Please make check out to Palo Alto Friends Meeting. If you need financial assistance for registration or travel costs, please ask your Meeting first and then let us know if you need more help. No one turned away for lack of funds. We want you to come! (And please register right away so we include you in the count, even if your travel or registration costs aren’t figured out yet.)
