Note: Calendar includes select Ben Lomond Quaker Center workshops of particular interest to teens and young adults though all BLQC workshops are open to interested Friends of any age, and childcare can be arranged by request. See quakercenter.org for full listings. Quaker Center offers Meeting and individual annual passes that include both camps and workshops.

  • October 19-22: Quaker Earthcare Witness Steering Committee Open Meeting. One of two annual face-to-face meetings. quakerearthcare.org/upcoming
    • Financial assistance for young Friends is available from QEW.
    • QEW AT 30 – WAY FORWARD: This year marks QEW’s 30th anniversary. Our … Steering Committee meeting will focus on where spirit is leading us. We will also be celebrating our history of inspiring Friends to act on our spiritual connection with the natural world, with thanks to the many Friends who have been part of the journey. We will seek way forward to build a sustainable and life-enhancing future in these challenging times.”

    • RepCom “consists of the officers of the Yearly Meeting, Clerks of Quarterly Meetings and all Yearly Meeting standing committees [including Young Adult Friends and JYM], the Registrar, one Representative from each Monthly Meeting, Representatives of special committees as approved by the Clerk, the convener of the Friends World Committee for Consultation Representatives, and the immediate past Clerk of Yearly Meeting.   • March 10: Quaker Heritage Day (Berkeley Friends Church, Berkeley CA) Quakers and the Eco-Reformation.” The speaker, Cherice Bock, “is co-clerk of the newly formed Sierra Cascades Yearly Meeting of Friends.  She teaches in the Creation Care Program at Portland Seminary, and is pursuing a PhD in environmental studies.  A lifelong Quaker, Bock sees environmental concerns as one of this generation’s most important social justice issues.”  berkeleyfriendschurch.org/qhd/

    • “The exchanges of experience, feelings and insights which Friends are able to make at Yearly Meeting, in correspondence and intervisitation, as well as in Monthly and Quarterly Meetings, are the lifeblood of our fellowship. Widely dispersed as we are geographically, the Annual Gathering allows us to feel, with deep gratitude to God, as one body.
